 The chaotic goings on in a remote ‘to be closed one day’ rural observatory set in the rolling hills of the Sussex countryside -  ‘Dad’s Army’ set in an Observatory.

 GENERAL SYNOPSIS

 The chaotic goings on in a remote rural observatory set in the rolling hills of the Sussex countryside. A sort of ‘Dad’s Army’ set in an Astronomical Observatory. The staff are loyal and appear dedicated but are in fact working on their own secret goal - to be the first to detect an alien civilization. Their youngest recruit, Bill, is deeply interested in Astronomy  - but he causes more trouble than might be thought possible. The villain of the peace is the local farmer whose long term plans are to turn his farm into a Theme Park. He employs two attractive young girls to promote this idea. Unfortunately the  Professor Ken Jones runs an ‘Astronomy and telescope mirror making class’ for the locals once a week at the observatory. The series is set in the nineteen-eighties as that was when British astronomy was last well supported financially by the government. All characters are fictitious. The series is intended for general family viewing.
